The beauty of America – freedom!!!
Nevertheless, the reasons one leaves liberty and enters into restrictions is suspect. I remember the debate among some orders of nuns about no longer requiring the wearing of habits versus the forbidding of habits. Why does one set oneself apart visually? I question the woman wearing a hajib when the husband is in western attire, but I also question the man with tattoos visible above his collar, and the girl with blue hair and the boy with his butt crack exposed, and the man or woman in the clerical collar. What statement are we making to the people around us? If the woman in the article wanted ONLY to remind HERSELF, a necklace or wristband would suffice. But it is a display item. Her answer to the children in her classroom is ingenuous.
